Human Resources Management
The Human Resources Management Department is one of the Common Services Departments of the Ministry headed by a Director, Grade Level 17. The department is divided into two divisions
- Appointment, Promotion and Discipline
- Training and Staff Welfare
The Two divisions are structurally headed by Deputy Directors. The appointment, Promotion and Discipline Division consists of branches and section as follows:

- Integrated and Personnel Payroll Information System

FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT
- Documentation of Newly employed/deployed staff
- Keeping and maintenance of records of staff of the Ministry
- Personnel Manpower
- Conducting Promotion for Junior Staff and Senior Staff
- Handling of Discipline Matters
- Processing of Appeals and Petitions
- Handling of Nominal Roll Matters
- Management of NYSC/IT
- Supervising the Promotion Exercise of Parastatals under the Ministry
- Initiating Memo and Circulars
- Processing of Retirement for Staff
- Training of staff/Capacity Building
- Processing of Staff Welfare Issues such as 1st 28 days, Burial matters, Sports, NHIS, FISH, Group Life Assurance and
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the Permanent Secretary
