Dr Zainab Christiana Pisagih
Director, Department Planning, Research and Statistics
Dr. Zainab Pisagih was born on the 25th of March, 1969. She started her career as a planning officer 11 on 8th December 1992 and was confirmed on 8th December 1994. Dr. Zainab Pisagih (PhD) has a doctorate degree in Policy Analysis from the University of Abuja. She’s also a graduate of ABU Zaria, where she did both her undergraduate program in International Relations and Master's in International Affairs and Diplomacy respectively.
She worked as a schedule officer in the economic growth department where she was heading the Trade and Investment desk. She successfully participated in the negotiations of the African Continental Free Trade Areas (ACFTA), as well as other Trade Negotiation Processes, Dr Pisagih has equally represented the Country at Trade Policy Review Meetings held both at the World Trade Center, Geneva and at Home.
Dr Pisagih has represented the Country in Trainings related to Modern Diplomacy for Small States organized by the Common Wealth Secretariat London held at Malta Republic as well as other Common Wealth Programmes of Common Wealth Focal Points of Contacts Meetings held in Common Wealth Countries Lilongwe, Malawi.
Dr Zainab Pisagih served as the Deputy Director responsible for environment and regional development Planning in the ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. She has attended numerous seminars and workshops including the Conference of Parties meetings of the United Nations Framework Conventions on Climate Change (UNFCCC) held at Montreal, Canada, UAE etc. She has attended series of Conferences and Seminars related to Climate Change and Environmental sustainability held both at home and abroad and has made several paper presentations on National Development Planning issues and Economic Growth.
Dr Pisagih rose through the ranks to attain her promotion to the rank of Director of Planning with effect from 1st January, 2024 and was deployed to the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy as Director, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS).
