The Cultural Industries Centre is sited in the palace of the traditional ruler of Owo kingdom in Ondo state. Ondo state is unique in the production of quality handicrafts of traditional woven cloth known as Aso-Oke, raffia mat, pot making among other things. The Centre was said to be sited in the palace of the king because it symbolizes the place where culture and tradition are preserved, a place that is accessible to the old, young, women and even visitors. It is a place where ethnics, morality and all cultural values are depicted, exhibited and demonstrated every day. In fact, it is the best place to site a major cultural that a sub-ethnic group within a larger linguistic community is identified.
