CULTURAL INDUSTRY CENTRES BALI AND IBI - TARABA STATE
The Bali Cultural Industries Centre was established in 2008, but became operational in 2011 while the Ibi Cultural Centre was establish 2013. It is important to note that Bali is a local government in the central senatorial District of Taraba and shares boundary with the Republic of Cameroon whereby having serious impact on commercial activities. These centres were established in order to assist in poverty reduction as well as contribute to national growth and development, the Ministry assisted in equipping the centre at the initial stage with generator, sewing machines, pottery wheel, weaving machines designing machines, shoes filers etc. However, the Ibi Cultural Centre is slightly different as it was established to solve accommodation problems of visitors and tourist during the Nwonyo Fishing Festival. The land on which the Centre was built on was donated by the Nwonyo community which has the capacity to accommodate over a hundred rooms with a hall for cultural display. However, it currently has only thirteen rooms and a mini hall.
