CAF 2025 PLANNING COMMITTEE INAUGUARATED
The commission for Africa (CAF) comprising of 51 Member Countries established by the UN Tourism primarily focuses on advancing tourism as a critical driver of Economic Development, Cultural Preservation and Social Inclusion across the continent.
In a resounding affirmation of Nigeria’s leadership role and commitment to advancing tourism in Africa, the country had emerged victorious in securing the hosting rights for the 68th meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for Africa (CAF) in June 2025. The announcement was made during the last 67th meeting of the Commission held in Livingstone, Republic of Zambia under agenda item 8.
Against this background, the Hon. Minister, Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa inaugurated the main Planning Committee in Abuja to kick start the process of preparation. The minister charged members to work hard and be meticulous in planning to justify Nigeria’s selection as the host country for this prestigious event.
“The effectiveness of our ability to carry out the task ahead rests on the effectiveness and commitment of this noble committee. It is in this context that you must therefore measure the importance and level of responsibility attached to your membership of the committee”.
Nigeria will be privileged not only to host and serve but indeed showcase our achievements, and our commitment to sustainable tourism development, technological innovation and inclusive economic growth. The eyes of Africa and the world will be on Nigeria in 2025.
The selection of members of the main planning committee for CAF 2025, was drawn across MDAs, Media and Para-military organisations.
